"Knowing
love, I will allow all things to come and go. To
be as supple as the wind, and take everything that comes with great
courage.
Life is right in any case. My heart is as open as the sky."
Sacred
Sexuality Welcome
to my Sacred Sexuality Section in the 'Tao.'
I have attempted to take my understanding of the concept of Sex and
Love
to a translatable place, an articulate plateau of understanding.
Through the years I have found that studying and practicing Tantric
techniques
and other methods from the 60s & 70s , has allowed me to integrate
as many of the teachings as possible into my relationships with others
and with myself.
The experiences
have proved to be beneficial and extremely rewarding
-although very difficult to maintain in this reality.
You must have a partner that is commited to the lifestyle of Sacred
Love, it's the only way.
What
was 'Free Love' to us?
Simply the ability and freedom to express love in all its aspects,
with friends,
family and strangers (friends we hadn't met yet) and have the freedom
from rigid
Victorian and Puritanical codes of morality and phony ethical teachings
from the church,
the educational system and our lineage.
Whether we could safely and wonderfully sit naked and exposed in a
hot spring,
by a lake or in the middle of a forest or whether we walked around
and danced
in our 'home' unclothed, naked and happy, we always felt that we were
free to do so without embarrassment, judgment or alienation.
The reward was the stripping away of the many layers of our recent
human conditioning,
getting more intimate and aware of our own bodies, exploring our own
integrity
and self-respect and learning to respect and honor the right of others
to feel and be vulnerable.
To be naked and free without predator energy and therefore never having
to embrace shame, paranoia, and pathological conditions later.
We began identifying all these feelings and acting them out,
with ourselves when we were alone, and with our partners and friends.
The important result seemed to always be,
that we started to refuse to suppress our natural curiosity about
sex and intimacy
and begin to realize a lifestyle that would and could support and
embrace our natural desires.
What we discovered then was, Everything is Love, if only you believe!
If you
pull out your video or DVD of Woodstock
69 and notice all the naked 'free spirits' you will also,
I hope, notice that the bodies were slim, voluptuous, rotund, Reubenesque,
and lots of beer belly's too.
All shapes and sizes.
Now we have the 'Barbie and Ken' curse and most people will either
never get naked in public
or even at home or they will flock together separated by gender and
hide themselves-in 'women's groups'
and men's groups or alone.
This is a shame. This is seperatism.
Culture Shock!
So you
can also discover for yourself the importance of studying
Tantra or 'The Shared Heart'-The Path of Ecstasy, or just do some
experimenting,
and see what fits with where you're at on your path.
The techniques handed down through the centuries from Tantric masters
takes a lifetime of devotion to master-so don't be fooled by quasi
New Age Kundalini Teachers or
New Agers that only want to seduce you. It's real. r even 'tantric
masters' from India, Bali, or Pango Pango.
Always check their credentials and always ask people who have studied
with them for thier opinions.
You can start your experimenting either by yourself as a solo practitioner
or with someone who shares the same belief system, your lover, "contractual
partner", wife or husband.
A clear spiritual program of intimacy and sovereign spiritual freedom
can only strengthen your family social structure, promoting health
and wholeness.
Having said this, I also understand how difficult it is to 'break
away' and take that leap of faith,
so I am going to attempt to introduce 'Sacred Sexuality'as a blending
of Western Tantra,
Taoist techniques and Shared Heart consciousness.
In the most clear, simple and straightforward way I can, through authentic
teachers, with a Western translation.
Most,
not all, Tantric sites on the Web also embrace pornography, call-girl
services,
and prostitutes posing as Tantric Goddesses..(which actually could
be debated as truth)
I do not support this kind of trickery and manipulation and never
will.
I do support the beauty of the human form as you will see in my many
galleries, and the hope for
Sexual Freedom and Liberation for anyone who cares to go higher with
their desires and bodies.
My friend in Eugene, Oregon, RomTom, has a wonderful philosophy of
nudity
which we included in his Gallery, a true voice from an Ole Hippie.
Please go to the GoddessHeart
Guest Gallery and check him out.
He also wrote this account of his philosophy about
"Safe Sex in the 60s' for me last year-below.

THE VAST EXPANSE
I acknowledge the privilege of being alive in a human body at this
moment,
endowed with senses, memories, emotions, thoughts, and the space of
mind in its wisdom aspect.
It is the prayer of my innermost being to realize my supreme identity
in the liberated play of consciousness, the Vast Expanse.
Now is the moment, Here is the place of Liberation.
Witness the contents of mind, the visions and sounds, the thoughts,
as clouds passing through the vast expanse - the sky-like nature of
mind.
The rootedness of Being is in emptiness, clarity and awareness: unborn,
unspoilt, stainlessly pure.
The infinite vibratory levels, the dimensions of interconnectedness
are without end.
There is nothing independent. All beings and things are residents
in your awareness.
I subject my awareness to the perfection of being,
the perfection of wisdom and perfection of love,
all of these being co-present in the Vast Expanse.
I share this panorama of Being and appreciate all I can share it with...
the seamless interweaving of consciousness with each moment.
Create perfection wherever you go with your awareness.
That is why this teaching is admired by artists-
-they sense the correctness of the response to life as creative.
Life is infinite creative play.
Enjoyment and participation in this creative play is the artists profound
joy.
We co-author every moment with universal creativity.
To bare our souls is all we ask, to give all we have to life and the
beings surrounding us.
Here the nature spirits are intense and we appreciate them,
make offerings to them--these nature spirits who call us here-
-sealing our fate with each other, celebrating our love.
I am an intersecting kaleidoscope of Being
in a rainbow refractive wave pattern: a corpuscle of light on the
ocean
...the transparency of my body with the rocks...
sometimes the only way to summarize my feelings is to draw--
to collapse the frenzy in my limbs enough to make a mark out of profound
appreciation for my existence.
Share your presence with others, no boundaries, completely openly
lovingly.
Love is what makes us alive, that is why we feel so alive when we
love.
Service is being available to love.
Life is the combustion of love.
That we love ourselves here, that is the true magnificence in the
mountains of being.
We are constantly drawing the line between love and not love
--enter into the Non-duality Zone, and all judgements dissolve in
the Vast Expanse.
It's as though we are co-conspirators of consciousness--
everyone, everywhere, everywhen, mixing up our openable minds.
It's as though we could gather clouds in the sky and people into our
lives.
Like an eruption of consciousness, we discover the most important
force is love.
Experience yourself as the Source and appreciate every moment as perfection.
Sunrise--Sunset.
Thank you, Thank you, Creator, profound unstoppable connectedness
of all beings,
pattern to everything, most radical no-thing, the Vast Expanse.
Above we see a
sample from Alex Grey.
The woman and man kiss, and we see their internal organs.
Nothing is shielded. Note the infinity symbols connecting their hearts
and minds.
Alex Grey is one of the rare truly-inspired artists
of our age.
He not only paints humans with medical precision, but he also paints
many dimensions of the actual human being.
That is, he paints the actual subtle energy bodies of the human, as
well as the obvious physical flesh body -
creating a separate painting for each "plane" or "dimension"
of the human energy field.
This is truly higher-consciousness "visioning"!
His paintings thereby offer a "glimpse" into the actual subtle
auric energy-fields of humans.
His art combines the Sacred-Divine with the precision-externalization
of multi-dimensional vision.
HISTORY OF SACRED
SEXUALITY
(Excerpt's from: Sacred Sexuality--A Manual for Living Bliss by: Michael
Mirdad)
Ancient Practitioners of Sacred Sex
To undertake rituals and practices that harness
forces that one cannot perceive
is more dangerous than Russion Roulette:
the use of energy (voice, emotion, thought, sex) produces undeniable
results,
but to PERCEIVE those results directly requires certain skills
that are completely atrophied in common individuals.
Be aware: there are many forces that one
cannot see physically
(x-rays, microwaves, infrared light, atoms, etc.)
and there are intelligences that one cannot perceive physically;
the use of Mantra is an interaction with those forces,
and to use Mantra in ignorance (or simply from reading a book) is foolish,
especially when one is doing so in order to fulfill
desire, lust, anger, pride, ambition, envy, jealousy, etc.
Be aware: there are
three kinds of Tantrism: White, Grey and Black.
Black Tantra is the method to feed desire, to
build desire,
to fulfill the Instinctive Mind, and to create unimaginable karmic debts
for oneself.
White Tantra teaches the Elimination of
Desire,
the conquering of lust and pride, and the purification of the mind and
heart.
Grey Tantra mixes them, and inevitably
leads to Black Tantra,
as the weight of the Ego is so heavy in humanity.
Read "The Mystery of the Fire, "
"The Perfect Matrimony," and
"The Mystery of the Golden Blossom" by Samael Aun Weor to
find out more.
These texts are the first physical revelation of the true nature of
Tantrism.
No where in the East or West will you find more direct, compelling information.
An Overview
Humanity has often struggled with sexuality and similarly related issues,
there have always been arts and sciences devoted to honoring the sacred,
sexual self.
In fact, the universe and its origins are steeped
in a fusion
(or intercourse) of creative forces in cosmic and human forms.
All sacred thought systems contain concepts of male and female aspects
of this Creative Force.
Additionally, every major religion and philosophy has a sect devoted
to mysticism.
Each sect of mysticism has a faction devoted to understanding and exploring
the deeper concepts behind sacred sexuality and the
practical integration of spirituality and sexuality.
The practice of sacred sexuality dates back to
an ancient culture known as the Lemurians.
Although there are no known written records of their sexual practices,
their methods were kept alive through their descendants, such as the
people of the Hawaiian Islands.
The Lemurians combined creativity, vibrational healing, aromatherapy,
and spirituality.
They lived in harmony with body and soul and honored the creative and
feminine aspects of life.
They were also the originators of the healing art known as Reiki,
which was preserved by their descendents in Tibet and surrounding regions.
All other ancient arts of sacred sexuality are remnants of those founded
by this original race.
The oldest arts of sacred sexuality that have
been preserved in a relatively complete form
are those of Tantra and the Taoist arts of sexology, estimated to be
several thousand years old.
The western mystics who explored sacred sexuality in the concealed form
of alchemy or energetic transmutation came
much later.
Nevertheless, whatever the name of the sacred art or the time in which
it was practiced,
the goals have always been the same.
The arts of sacred sexuality have always
been practiced with the intent of
transforming mundane thoughts, feelings, and energy into a higher,
spiritualized, personal experience of oneness, or union, with all that
exists.

(Was
it safer in the 60s & 70s or just more conscious?)
Back in 1963 when I was sixteen I decided I wanted
to make love with girls but didn't want to get any of them pregnant
and have to marry them, so I took the advice of trying condoms. The
first time I used one it broke to smithereens. The second one also
broke. The third one also broke. Well, when you are young you have
powerful driving forces. Today I could probably use the same condom
every day for a year and never have it break. Maybe I am not eating
enough tofu.
Safe sex should be on our minds. The diseases are one thing to avoid.
I gave up on condoms after the first ones broke. What was the use?
But most of the young women I met were really nice women. I seemed
to be attracted to that sort more than the other. Well, by "the
other" I suppose I mean the girls who went out drinking with
the guys, all the time, always drunk or half drunk. They were everywhere
back in the sixties and seventies. Bars were full of them. To say
a half-drunk party girl was difficult to score with would be absurd.
But I didn't even like the taste of alcohol much. And long-haired
people could have scarey times in bars back in those days. There was
a real division in the culture between the drinkers/drunks and the
potheads/longhairs. The two did not mix. If a young man was going
to get a sexual disease it was more likely to come from a loose girl
in a bar who got so drunk regularly that she wasn't even sure who
was in bed with her. So I was very fortunate in that for three and
a half decades, the sixties, the seventies, eighties, and nineties,
I never frequented bars, and never (or hardly ever) had any sexual
flings with girls who make such bars their habitats.
But
I had a super abundant sexlife without any of that. Sex is a rare
flower... I was lucky that I knew that. There were little mountains
out in the desert of Joshua Tree California when I lived on a commune
there. You could climb to the top in forty minutes. Just an amazing
pile of rocks. Many such piles. They were almost more like pyramids
than mountains. A girl from the commune climbed one one day. We made
love on the very peak. There was a flat rock up there on top. We had
total sex, every way and position we could think of. In broad daylight.
It was like a supreme altar. When we got back to the commune there
was a sister washing dishes looking out the window, where the "mountain"
was dimly visible. She said she saw us up there. A few days later
I went up there with a different girl and made love again. Sacred
Sex. Somehow I had a feeling that what we were doing was truly in
the heart of God, and nothing but good could come of it. I was very
spiritual back in those days, and so were almost all of the young
women I made love with. We were sober and alert and totally sensitive
and sensual. And so the decades passed. I calculate that I probably
made love with about 300 women in all those decades. No world record
I know. But we shared some wonderful spirit.
Nowadays
people have to worry more than ever about diseases. There was no such
thing as AIDS when I was making love in the sixties. But it's deadly
today. And condoms still break, especially if you are young and vigorous.
One day I was fixing flat tires outside the Bicyclebus, and I had
a huge pile of innertubes in front of me. I cut one of them into a
length about six inches long and tied off the end and rolled it up.
Wow! What an idea. A new way to recycle all these innertubes! Homemade
reusable condoms! Just wash them out and use them again! I always
figured I would someday make up a batch and take them to a hippy barter
fair to sell. But what was the use? Hippies hate condoms! The best
way to keep from getting pregnant is switch to oral sex in the last
spurting moment. I guess that's why we are such smiley happy hippy
people.
Much
has been made about a new invention: a full-body condom: a sort of
latex bag that fits over the entire body. Both partners wear one.
They may do whatever they want in this way and never have any fear
of catching a disease. I have never tried these things, but they certainly
sound fascinating.
Good luck to everyone in your search for love and spirit.
Celebrating
the Yoni I will be devoting
a section of 'The Tao of Sacred Sexuality"
to the Celebration of both the Yoni and the Lingham.
So please do keep checking back.
Yoni
(pronounced YO-NEE) is a Sanskrit word for the vagina
that is loosely translated as "Sacred
Space" or "Sacred Temple."
Its meaning and use is an alternate perspective from the Western
view of the female genitals.
In Tantra, the Yoni is seen from a perspective of love and respect.
Yoni is a beautiful part of the female anatomy, and should be viewed
as such.
It is like alovely flower with it's intricate and delicate
petals.
What can be more beautiful than the source of all life?
Please visit my good friend Bob Thornburg's
"Celebration of the Yoni"
Bob lives in Santa Fe,
and probably has the best job in the world.
these are not just models--they are mostly private client's.
