"Our modern science begins with astronomy. Instead of saying that man was led by psychological motives, they formerly said he was led by his stars. ... The puzzling thing is that there is really a curious coincidence between astrological and psychological facts, so that one can isolate time from the characteristics of an individual, and also, one can deduce characteristics from a certain time. Therefore we have to conclude that what we call psychological motives are in a way identical with star positions. Since we cannot demonstrate this, we must form a peculiar hypothesis. This hypothesis says that the dynamics of our psyche is not just identical with the position of the stars, nor has it to do with vibrations - that is an illegitimate hypothesis. It is better to assume that i is a phenomenon of time. ... The stars are simply used by man to serve as indicators of time... "- Carl G. Jung in 1929-

"Synchronicity does not admit causality in the analogy between terrestrial events and astrological constellations ... What astrology can establish are the analogous events, but not that either series is the cause or the effect of the other. (For instance, the same constellation may at one time signify a catastrophe and at another time, in the same case, a cold in the head.) ... In any case, astrology occupies a unique and special position among the intuitive methods... I have observed many cases where a well-defined psychological phase, or an analogous event, was accompanied by a transit (particularly when Saturn and Uranus were affected)."- Carl G. Jung-

Astrology
'A Brief History'
Astrology is basically about You. It has been described as a stairway leading into your deeper self. Astrology holds out the promise that you do not have to pass through life reacting blindly to experience, that you can within limits direct your own destiny and on the process reach a truer self-understanding.

"The collective unconscious...appears to consist of mythological motifs or primordial images, for which reason the myths of all nations are its real exponents. In fact the whole of mythology could be taken as a sort of projection of the collective unconscious. We can see this most clearly if we look at the heavenly constellations, whose originally chaotic forms are organized through the projection of images. This explains the influence of the stars as asserted by astrologers. These influences are nothing but unconscious, introspective perceptions of the collective unconscious." - Carl G. Jung

"Obviously astrology has much to offer psychology, but what the latter can offer its elder sister is less evident. So far as I judge, it would seem to me advantageous for astrology to take the existence of psychology into account, above all the psychology of the personality and of the unconscious." - Carl G. Jung

"While studying astrology I have applied it to concrete cases many times. ... The experiment is most suggestive to a versatile mind, unreliable in the hands of the unimaginative, and dangerous in the hands of a fool, as those intuitive methods always are. If intelligently used the experiment is useful in cases where it is a matter of an opaque structure. It often provides surprising insights. The most definite limit of the experiment is lack of intelligence and literal-mindedness of the observer. ... Undoubtedly astrology today is flourishing as never before in the past, but it is still most unsatisfactorily explored despite very frequent use. It is an apt tool only when used intelligently. It is not at all foolproof and when used by a rationalistic and narrow mind it is a definite nuisance". - C. G. Jung: 1958

Your Horoscope is like a painting of You, unique and truly One of a Kind. The characteristics of your Sign are the broad strokes that the artist first lays down on the canvas. The artist outlines your general shape, the planes and angles of your face, the way in which you hold your body. In the same way, your Sign delineates your general character, tendencies and inclinations in this Lifetime. With the study of Karmic Astrology you may even start to perceive tendencies that you have brought with you from Past Lifetimes.
Down through the centuries, philosophers, mystics, and spiritual teachers have studied, written about, refined, and pondered AstrologyØs significance toward human understanding. It is the worldØs oldest science next to healing herbs and oils, trying to discover your relationship with the Cosmos, with Yourself and your own particular and special SoulØs pathway and Lifetime pathway.
The study of the Sun, the Moon, Stars, Eclipses, Day and Night, began well before recorded history (Herstory). There are reindeer bones and tusks of wooly mammoths from the Ice Age that have notches carved on them picturing the phases of the Moon. These bones and tusks are dated between 25,000 and 10,000 B.C.E., and some scientists place them long ago as 32,000 B.C.E.
The path of the Stars was recorded 6,000 years before Jesus the Christ ws born. As early as 2767 B.C.E., a horoscope was cast in Egypt by Imhotep, the architect of the great Step Pyramid in Saqqarah. That horoscope still exists.
Ancient astrologers charted the movement of Planets and Stars, and made predictions about eclipses, upheavals, famine, and fortune. They developed calendars for marking and measuring the passage of Time. You can still read Star Charts that were made by Egyptian and Mayan astrologers dating back to 4200 B.C.E.
In ancient societies, astrology and religion were inextricably linked. The astrologers were mainly priests and priestesses. In fact, the Sumerian symbol for Divinity was the Star. Even the patterns that the stars form in the heavens were given names and worshipped as Gods and Goddesses, and still are!
Not too surprisingly, the Sun was the most powerful God. The Sun gave warmth, light, nourished plant life, and made crops grow. The Moon nourished and nurtured their inner lives and was considered a powerful Goddess. Druids, Egyptians, Incas, Mayans, Chinese and Hindus were all Sun and Moon worshippers. In the ancient Hindu Vedic religion, and today, Vishnu was the embodiment of the Sun, the symbol of Life itself.
We can still visit some of the early observatories that the ancients built to study the sky. In the Great Pyramid at Giza in Egypt there are elaborate tombs of dead royalty. They are also giant compasses, whose triangular sides directly face the points of a compass and can still be used to take sightings and readings. In the Mayan city of Chichen Itza there stands a Pre-Colombian stone structure that resembles our Capitol building in Washington. It is called the Charcoal Observatory. Inside, a spiral staircase leads to various windows from which the position of Planets can be observed as they shift throughout the year.
In the south of England there stands a structure we all know so well, Stonehenge. Stonehenge consists of a series of stones, some as high as 12 feet, placed in a circular pattern. Outside the stones is a circle of holes or pits. In 1961 Professor Gerald S. Hawkins, an astronomer from Boston University, submitted the pattern of Stonehenge to analysis by an IBM computer. he discovered that the strange stones and holes could be used to record the positions of the Sun and Moon, and that virtually every eclipse of the Sun and Moon can be predicted from them! Obviously, the people of Stonehenge in 2500 B.C.E were not just barbarians, heathens and filthy pagans, they built a sophisticated astronomical observatory.
In the Southwest U.S. a structure called Casa Grande, built by the Hohokam tribe in Arizona around A.C.E. 1300, has eight openings that are aligned with the rising and setting of the Sun at both Solstices and both Equinoxes--the four cardinal points of the Zodiac. Amazing, isnt it?

This is one of the most important books ever written for the professional astrologer.
All modern astrologers read the Moon's Nodes and Schulman's book is the best way to learn them. You can give your clients information from these books that will change their entire orientation toward life for the better. I have personally tested his material in the fires of life for 20 years with my astrology clients and I would swear by the information in this book.

The other books in the series will follow naturally, as night follows day :)Karmic Astrology: Retrogrades and Reincarnation (Karmic Astrology) by Martin Schulman
Karmic Relationships by Martin Schulman
Martin Schulman's book "Karmic Relationships" is fantastic! He examines relationships from a spiritual and karmic perspective that is immensely helpful in identifying potential problems in a relationship. In many instances he identifies challenges that may be transcended to create harmony within a relationship. Over the years I have found his interpretations to be very accurate and a helpful tool for creating fulfilling and harmonious relationships. This book is a must for any astrological library.
A Spiritual Approach to Astrology by Myrna Lofthus.
Really great book for beginners and avid Astrologers. A comprehensive text and dozens of charts and illustrations. The hardest part for any student of astrology is erasing the ego....Mrs. Lofthus did just that in this book. She explains the inner relations of astrology very clearly. I'd thought that I would never find any useful information in this day of quick and easy profit bearing astrology but this book transformed my studies and took me to a totally different level. There is only so much a person can take of those books before you realize the ego involved in writting them is limiting your true understanding. Mrs. Lofthus uses clear symbols to permanently fix information in your head and at your disposal. I only wish she wrote more books. (Amazon Reviewer)
Linda Goodman's Star Signs: The Secret Codes of the Universe: Forgotten Rainbows and Forgotten Melodies of Ancient Wisdom.
With knowledge of Astrology, Numerology and Lexigrams presented to us, I would suggest to many readers to start to put into practice these teachings. Thus, you will be able to attest to her words once again. For those of you who haven't got her `Purple Plates', I urge you to try them out as well. Burns, cuts and headaches tend to disappear very quickly when used.
Of her explanation of Karma, I used to always wonder why, if God is Love and He loved his children equally why would he harm some and glorify others. I realize now that Man has brought all his sins upon himself and has to pay for them through Karma and reincarnation.
Lastly, the list of books provided by Linda is of valuable assistance to the strong of heart. I would suggest getting the book `Four Arguments for the Elimination of Television'. Then unplug your TV and you will have more time to yourself. Then get the book `The Game of Life and How to Play It' by Florence Shinn and put it into practice. Other books that have proved extremely enjoyable are `Secrets of the Soil' & `Secret Life of Plants' by Peter Tompkins and other Joseph Goodavage books.
Beneath A Vedic Sky by William R. Levacy.

Astrology, Karma and Transformation: The Inner Dimensions of the Birth-Chart by Stephen Arroyo.
Arroyo here talks about the chart and particularly about the aspects and transits of Saturn and the outer planets, not with a cookbook approach but with the insight of the very special humanistic alchemy that carachterizes Arroyo's work. Drawing for Jungian concepts, psychology and spirituality Arroyo brings to life the birth chart and its players and weaves meaning into the life experience.
Dark Side Of The Moon by Pink Floyd-30th Anniversary Edition.
"Dark Side of the Moon, originally released in 1973, is one of those albums that is discovered anew by each generation of rock listeners. This complex, often psychedelic music works very well because Pink Floyd doesn't rush anything; the songs are mainly slow to mid-tempo, with attention paid throughout to musical texture and mood. The sound effects on songs like "On the Run," "Time" and especially "Money" (with sampled sounds of clinking coins and cash registers turned into rhythmic accompaniment) are impressive, especially when we remember that 1973 was before the advent of digital recording techniques. This is probably Pink Floyd's best-known work, and it's an excellent place to start if you're new to the band." (Amazon Review)
Best of Kitaro,Volume 2 by Kitaro.
This is Kitaro doing what he does best: beautiful, slow music. "Koi" is particularaly nice. "Dance of Sarasvati" has a kind of Carribean sound to it, and it moves for a Kitaro piece. "Lady of Dreams" ushers Kitaro into the world of rock. Jon Anderson's vocals blend seamlessly with Kitaro's instrumentation. The Soong Sisters soundtrack is Kitaro's first soundtrack.
2001-A Space Odyssey by Stanley Kubrick. DVD.
"When Stanley Kubrick recruited Arthur C. Clarke to collaborate on "the proverbial intelligent science fiction film," it's a safe bet neither the maverick auteur nor the great science fiction writer knew they would virtually redefine the parameters of the cinema experience. A daring experiment in unconventional narrative inspired by Clarke's short story "The Sentinel," 2001 is a visual tone poem (barely 40 minutes of dialogue in a 139-minute film) that charts a phenomenal history of human evolution. From the dawn-of-man discovery of crude but deadly tools in the film's opening sequence to the journey of the spaceship Discovery and metaphysical birth of the "star child" at film's end, Kubrick's vision is meticulous and precise. In keeping with the director's underlying theme of dehumanization by technology, the notorious, seemingly omniscient computer HAL 9000 has more warmth and personality than the human astronauts it supposedly is serving. (The director also leaves the meaning of the black, rectangular alien monoliths open for discussion.) This theme, in part, is what makes 2001 a film like no other, though dated now that its postmillennial space exploration has proven optimistic compared to reality. Still, the film is timelessly provocative in its pioneering exploration of inner- and outer-space consciousness. With spectacular, painstakingly authentic special effects that have stood the test of time, Kubrick's film is nothing less than a cinematic milestone--puzzling, provocative, and perfect." Silent Running with Bruce Dern. DVD.
Click Planets to Order!
"A loan and rebellious astronaut spends the remainder of his mission with three robotic "drones" as his only companions, struggling to maintain his sanity in the vastness of space. Dern is superb in this memorable role, representing the lost soul of humankind as well as the back-to-nature youth movement of the 1960s and the pre-Watergate era. (Appropriately, Joan Baez sings the film's theme song.) A rare science fiction film that combines bold adventure with passionate social conscience, Silent Running will remain relevant as long as the Earth is threatened by the ravages of human carelessness."
